The Digital Human Back to Projects Page

The Consortium
The Digital Human consortium is an international group of academic, government and private sector organizations. The consortium’s aim is to use 21st century information technology tools to simulate the functions of genes and proteins, cells, tissues, organs, and systems. This work will provide unprecedented understanding of the human body over the next decade. The consortium seeks to play a key role in helping biomedical researchers, students, and educators master the complexity of their discoveries, by providing; a community where researchers can build on each other’s efforts, and a cooperative climate for biomedical researchers and computer scientists to work effectively together to develop a language that will allow this to happen.

The Role of UMVHP
The UMVHP plans to host a meeting with the focus of helping to further organize and obtain funding for the Digital Human project.
