Under the direction of the National Library of Medicine, the collaboratory already in place between the University of Michigan and the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center is being expanded to include Stanford University. The proposed collaboratory adds the Maui High Perfomance Computing Center, USC Institute for Creative Technologies, University of New Mexico, San Diego Supercomputer Center, University of Colorado Health Sciences, University of Washington, University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse, and the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences. The collaboration is using Next-Generation Internet connectivity to transfer large volumes of Visible Human data along Internet-2 high-speed lines. |
