The Proposal
The MCBI, University of Michigan Visible Human Project, along with the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center, Stanford University, the University Consortium for Advanced Internet Development (Internet2) and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), proposes implementing collaborative and scalable Internet2-based health sciences training. This involves the development of a detailed database containing labeled Visible Human images as well as CT and MRI scans.
The Goal
The goal is to develop healthcare education and disaster management training applications using advanced network infrastructure technology. Medical personnel, researchers, engineers, and students using high speed Internet access will be able to view and interact with the human body online.
