Segmentation          Back to Projects Page

Students and faculty from Ferris State University and the University of Michigan are involved in a collaborative effort to segment the Visible Human Female image data set into a comprehensive collection of anatomical structures. Photorealistic surface texture is applied to the computed three dimensional models producing an invaluable resource for medical education. Interactive teaching modules for medical anatomy and physiology are being developed that can be delivered in real time to any educational institution in the world using high speed Internet 2 technology.
